“I am pleased to recommend Eileen Honey Strauss, who worked with Sauce from June 2021 through August 2026 as our blog writer, editorial strategist, and blog manager. Over the course of five years, Eileen became much more than a freelance writer for our team. She became a trusted editorial partner who understood our business, our audience, and the restaurant industry well enough to help us determine not only how to tell a story, but which stories were worth telling.

Eileen managed the Sauce blog with a rare combination of editorial judgment, creativity, consistency, and independence. For five years, she researched and wrote two original articles every week, regularly identifying timely topics and emerging trends and developing relevant angles for our audience of restaurant owners and operators. Her work covered an exceptionally broad range of subjects, from restaurant marketing and operations to sustainability, delivery, consumer behavior, technology, and the rapidly changing role of AI.

Eileen also conducted one-on-one interviews with restaurant owners for our Spotlight series, turning their individual experiences into engaging editorial features. Those conversations served another important purpose for Sauce. By building relationships directly with restaurant owners and introducing them to our brand through the editorial process, Eileen helped bring prospective restaurant partners into our funnel and directly contributed to sales lead generation.

One of Eileen's greatest strengths is her ability to think beyond the individual assignment. She understands that great editorial content needs to serve the reader while also supporting larger brand and business objectives. She consistently brought ideas to us rather than waiting for assignments, recognized opportunities around emerging trends, and helped maintain a distinctive and consistent Sauce voice across years of content.

Her initiative extended well beyond writing. As our content systems and platforms changed, Eileen adapted with them. She independently learned HubSpot, Wix, and WordPress and took ownership of the tools she needed to manage the work effectively. She also expanded the content surrounding each article, taking the initiative to create infographics and Facebook assets and writing social copy to support every article and extend its reach beyond the blog.

Eileen was exceptionally dependable. She worked independently, managed a demanding and consistent publishing schedule, met deadlines, adapted quickly when priorities changed, and required very little oversight. Over five years of working together, she earned a high level of trust. We knew she understood what we were trying to accomplish and could take an idea from initial concept through research, interviews, writing, editing, publication, and promotion.

What distinguished Eileen most was her ability to combine the instincts of an editor with the perspective of a marketer. She could recognize a compelling story, understand why it mattered to restaurant operators, and then connect that story to Sauce's larger goals. During her five years with Sauce, Eileen helped us build a substantial body of editorial content and gave our blog the consistency, relevance, and perspective that comes from having someone who truly understands both the brand and its audience.

I would highly recommend Eileen to any organization looking for an experienced writer, editor, editorial strategist, or content partner. She brings strong editorial instincts, strategic thinking, curiosity, initiative, and the reliability of someone who takes genuine ownership of the work. It was a pleasure working with Eileen for five years, and I am happy to recommend her without reservation.”
